Utilizing renewable ingredients helps to protect our natural resources. Our hardwood flooring is FSC certified and comes from managed, sustainable forests.

Products

Bamboo
Bamboo is hot. It is an environmentally sound, recyclable and biodegradable flooring product that is a TRUE GEM in modern sustainable architecture. Bamboo is utilized more and more by architects, designers and homeowners alike. Bamboo is durable, beautiful and is available in many different stains. It is composed of complex fibers that do not absorb moisture as easily as other woods. It is exotic and elegant, offering an appearance that is complimentary to many decors. You can enhance any decor with bamboo and the differences in tone and appearance are vast.

Cork
Cork has a wealth of other natural features that appeal to homeowners and builders alike in addition to being an environmentally sound material. That is why cork flooring is rapidly gaining recognition as one of the leading alternative types of flooring. A floor made from this wonder of nature serves to provide style and class to any home where it is installed. The benefits of cork over other types of floors are its sound suppression abilities, thermal insulation properties, high comfort level and suitability for use by allergy sufferers.

Rubber
Both natural and recycled rubber flooring is an extremely durable flooring solution. Rubber floors are made from both natural and recycled rubber. Rubber contains renewable and recycled materials and has longevity, reducing the need to replace product.

Wood
The forests of New England have provided the timbers needed to build our nation for over two centuries. With our collection of hardwood and softwood species in a variety of widths and colors, we promise that our local forests can supply a floor that you can be proud of for decades to come.

Vinyl
There is also a new era unfolding in vinyl flooring. Most vinyl flooring does not require adhesives and contains a double felt layer to provide heat insulation. Vinyl floors pass LEED certification. Our suppliers have committed to using renewable natural resources in their manufacturing of their vinyl flooring products. Linseed oil, wood flour and jute fibers are just a few of the ingredients that can be found in vinyl flooring, which are sustainable and biodegradable and contribute to a healthier indoor environment.

Carpets
Some of our carpets are made from 10% - 25% post-consumer recyclable material. Others are made from renewable resources such as corn instead of petroleum. Recycled fibers such as nylon are used in the products and are made to be 100% recyclable. This allows the post-consumer nylon carpet to be recycled back to its original material. These products are ideal for people who are sensitive to air quality, because they meet the Carpet & Rug Institute’s highest Indoor Air Quality rating. These products offer protection against the growth of bacterial mold and mildew, thus contributing to a cleaner, fresher, indoor environment. Our manufactures are committed to shrinking the environmental footprint of their manufacturing processes by reducing waste, minimizing water usage, and conserving energy.

Wool
Wool carpets are natural as they are produced from shearing sheep. Wool is sustainable as it is produced from totally renewable sources, as sheep produce a new coat of wool every nine to twelve months. Wool is also low-toxic and biodegradable.
